I once heard a woman in her 60’s say that her skin looked better than most of her friends’ who had botox and facelifts. Her secret? This beloved facial serum. So I’m here to share the recipe with you and teach you how to make it!
This facial serum recipe is the perfect blend to make your skin look vibrant, youthful, buoyant and be soft to the touch. I’ve personally been using it for several years and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my skin.
This DIY facial serum is a simple addition to your beauty cabinet and an easy swap in your daily routine. You’ll use it twice a day, after rinsing your face in the morning, before you apply your makeup, and then you’ll use it again after you wash your face in the evening – the perfect way to prep your skin for a days worth of work and the best way to prep your skin for a nights worth of sweet sleep!
The ingredients are simple: Frankincense, Lavender, Geranium, Blue Tansy and organic Jojoba Oil.
Meet the Oils
Frankincense. If I were to only use one oil for the rest of my life, it would be Frank. It’s the best and my favorite oil for sleep, skin, hair support, calming, emotions, anointing and nurturing. It will make your skin glowy. I use this oil multiple times each day, topically and in the diffuser.
Lavender. The “holy grail” of oils. It’s also known as the “swiss army knife” and the “grandmother of oils”. If you blindly grabbed any oil, hope you grab Lavender. It’s useful for any sickness and ailments. It helps to make your skin soft and will smooth any lines.
Geranium. Because of this oil you will smell like you’re sleeping in a bed of flowers. It helps make your skin healthy and youthful.
Blue Tansy is the key ingredient, it’s a boujie oil but one that is a must-have for beauty recipes! It only goes in the morning serum because it can have a tendency to give your brain a little boost of energy, hence the desire to put it in the morning recipe versus the evening. This oil has skin-cleansing and smoothing properties, it will help to moisturize and reduce blemishes.
Jojoba Oil. Whenever you’re making an oil recipe that will be used in a dropper bottle or roller bottle you need a carrier oil. Jojoba is one of my favorites because it doesn’t clog your pores and doesn’t have a smell, making it perfect for a skincare recipe! You can buy it at any natural grocery store or online.
Why Young Living Oils?
Young Living Essential Oils has continued to be one of the leading brands in essential oils. Their farms are organic, their products are clean and they stand by their seed to seal certification. These are the only oils I have personally used for 8+ years, beforehand I tried a different company which didn’t compare to the smell and benefits I’ve experienced with Young Living’s oils.

Which Recipe is Best for Your Skin Type
Both recipes will benefit any skin type, but if your skin tends to be more dry, I would start with the evening serum which can applied multiple times a day and worn under makeup.
What You Will Need to Make This Serum
2 oz. glass dropper bottles. I have these ones off amazon and love using them.
Essential oils: Frankincense, Lavender, Geranium and Blue Tansy. If I were to simply pick two oils from this list I would choose Frankincense and Lavender.
Carrier Oil: organic jojoba oil does not clog your pours like coconut oil does. Here’s the organic jojoba oil I use.

How to Make Both Recipes
Morning Serum
To make, grab a 2oz glass dropper bottle. Put 15 drops of Frankincense, 5 drops of Lavender, 5 drops of Geranium, then top it off with Jojoba Oil.
Evening Serum
To make, grab a 2oz glass dropper bottle. Put 15 drops of Frankincense, 5 drops of Lavender and 5 drops of Geranium and and 3 drops of Blue Tansy, top the bottle off with Jojoba Oil.
Give this recipe a try and let me know what you think! Something fun to do would be to take before and after pictures of your skin. Take one the day you begin using it and then set a reminder to take another picture 4 months later!
Enjoy, I’m excited to see your skin glow!
