Early in 2024 we decided this was the year of no traveling. Not even trips to Colorado. Which made way for creativity and exploring local festivals and fairs, boating and fishing, local markets, farms and day trips, and simply enjoying what Wisconsin has to offer.
And while planning out our summer we decided it’d be a good year to try camping with the kids. We happened to find a brand new, never opened tent on the side of the road, and in true Ramsey fashion, we stopped to throw it in our trunk, brought it home and…it was absolutely perfect — no tears or mold because it was still in the packaging. A few weeks later we decided to camp in our backyard as a test to see how the kids would do, they did great! So we began searching for a fun opportunity to use our brand new (to us) tent.
We had some friends who mentioned they were going up north for a few days towards the end of summer, so we decided to join them via tent camping and then we had another family join us. It ended up being such a fun weekend getaway, although it rained 80% of the time. Despite the soggy weather, we had a blast and the kids told us they would do it again.
Here are just some of the photos from our first Ramsey fam camping trip! *we all became a photographer at one point over the weekend 🙂
