Easter Table Setting

When new seasons and holidays roll back around, I typically begin by pulling out my bin from the basement to survey what I already have before making a list for new items. And for this specific table setting I only bought two new things — beeswax candles and the cutest napkin rings, see below!

Another thing I tend to do before every occasion, especially holidays where the color scheme and decor will be similar from years past, I create a vision board for my table, everything from colors to patterns. This year I went with pastel blues and neutrals with a hint of brown. I knew I wanted to the table to be minimal so it wasn’t overcrowded when the food and people were all present, so I pulled out my cream colored table cloth (that I use for almost every holiday), it has a simple patterns to it, and my blue and white lace-trimmed cloth napkins, my grandma’s china and gold candlesticks I had tucked away.

After I create my vision board, dig out the right bin from the basement and start putting together what I already have, I think about the people I will be hosting — who will sit next to who so conversation flows well and where I can squeeze in the kids. Once I figure out the seating arrangements, I print off place cards. In addition to the place cards, my husband and I choose a hymn or prayer to sing before sitting down to eat, this year we chose the Doxology. Both the names of our guests and Doxology were at each place setting as well.

To top off the table, I used our ribbed wine glasses, ornate silverware, with speckled eggs and bunny napkin rings, and I got fun Easter straws for the kids!

I hope this inspires you to be creative and intentional for those you host at your own table!
