Current Young Living Favorites: Summer

July 30, 2024

We’re in the middle of a laundry room renovation — I didn’t have a fully functioning laundry room for several months (actually, years, if you count all the years soaking clothes in our half bath sink), so when my husband installed a new vanity with a farmhouse sink, I was allllll heart eyes and have been soaking clothes and scrubbing out stains ever since.

That to say, this summer has been the summer of stains around here — mud stains from our kids loving their new mud kitchen, grass stains, popsicle stains, grease stains, chicky poo stains, and so many more. Stains are what summer is made of, at least in our home.

And with stains, us mamas need a good ole stain remover! Which is where Thieves comes in. The Thieves household line is hands down the best line-up, I’ve been using all these products for years, and for nearly every surface, every material, every inch of our home has been sprayed, wiped, soaked and cleaned with Thieves. I actually have an entire post with my top tried-and-true Thieves recipes for you to check out and save.

For stains, I surprisingly use the Thieves dish soap. Ever since my oldest had nasty blowouts to now with chickens making messes everywhere, the Thieves dish soap has been my number two, right behind the Thieves Household Cleaner, for 7+ years now.

I had a group of friends over earlier in the Spring to celebrate freshness in the air and learn about cleaning our homes with non-toxic products — how they actually work, which recipes are best, the various uses of essential oils, and so many more topics where chatted about.

We talked about diffusing, which is one of the most fun things about essential oils — making your home smell delicious and fresh n’ clean without actually cleaning. Although some oils, like Lushious Lemon, do indeed purify the air, diffusing is one of my favorite daily rhythms I do nearly every day for my home. This summer I’ve been loving Lemon, Citrus Fresh, and a perfect blend of Rosemary and Grapefruit or Geranium and Tangerine.

I keep it simple with cleaning and tending to my home, easy to use products and simple DIYS are the way to go. What are your current summer faves? I’d love to know.
